West Brom change on cards as American investor interest grows – Finance Expert
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive West Brom columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns...
Dan Plumley has insisted that there is an investment opportunity in the English game for American investors with West Brom mentioned.
John Percy has recently told Guochuan Lai to sell the club with the financial picture looking more than bleak currently at The Hawthorns.
The finance expert admitted that a different type of investment could spell change for the Baggies with their torment failing to show any signs of stopping.

“Again, it shows that despite what we’re looking at in terms of bleak finances for a number of clubs, it does show there is still an investment opportunity in the English game,” he exclusively told West Brom News.
“People have got their motives for investing, of course, they have, but there is potential in these clubs and people are seeing that, and it goes back to private equity American consortiums, whether that is full takeovers or partial stakes and investment opportunities.
“We’re not quite sure on the end game of that yet, but it is a trend in the market and for West Brom, given the ownership struggles they’ve had, a different type of investment may change something for them in the future.
“It still comes with risk attached, as does the investment in any club.”

Shareholders for Albion are ramping up the pressure on the current board, who are not exactly helping themselves with their response, or failure to respond.
Xu Ke recently refused to answer over 30 questions regarding the club after flying to meet with Lai, with the club simply being dragged through the mud right now.
Change is desperately needed, let’s hope it comes soon.
