Leeds United eye move for West Brom manager Carlos Corberan
Leeds United are set to return for West Brom manager Carlos Corberan after their relegation to the Championship, according to The Mirror (20 May).
Corberan was linked with a move to Elland Road after Jesse Marsch was sacked in February, but opted to sign a new deal at The Hawthorns instead just a few months after joining.
But after the Whites were relegated from the Premier League on the final day of the season, Corberan is back on their list of targets for the new season with Sam Allardyce’s future up in the air.

“Leeds have got Carlos Corberan on their list of targets to be their next boss,” they wrote.
“Corberan has just enjoyed a hugely impressive season at West Brom, coping with financial difficulties behind the scenes and still taking them to the brink of the play-offs.
“Leeds were keen on Corberan before appointing Javi Gracia to succeed Jesse Marsch earlier in the season but the ex-Watford boss was axed as he could not turn results around.”
Battle
Corberan did an excellent job with this squad this season getting us to the brink of the play-offs, but we simply didn’t have enough to get over the line.
Leeds are going to be coming down with a vengeance to get back up as quickly as possible, and bringing in someone who knows the club already and has had success in the league is a great way to do that.

West Brom will obviously be keen to keep hold of him, but with reports of a release clause in his contract it could be difficult to be able to do anything about it.
It would be typical of the club to finally get back on track and then find a way to derail their own aspirations while helping out a rival in the process, so we have to just hope Corberan will show loyalty once more.
The summer transfer window is going to be key to our chances of success in the new season and every Baggies fan will be far more optimistic about our chances should we keep the boss.
