Nigel Quashie baffled by Ron Gourlay departure after West Brom announcement
Former West Brom midfielder Nigel Quashie is baffled by the departure of Ron Gourlay from the club after his exit was confirmed.
CEO Gourlay will leave his post at The Hawthorns on June 14th, with the boardroom at the club in total disarray as fans demand the owner leaves after taking money out and not repaying it.
And after the club issued an official statement confirming the news, Quashie took to his personal Twitter account (31 May) to question what was going on behind the scenes and admitted it’s a huge concern for everyone involved.

“What’s going on behind the scenes at West Brom,” he wrote.
“I’ve met great people at this club in all departments and it’s a huge concern for everyone and the supporters.
“They all deserve to be told what direction the club is going in.
“What’s done in the dark always come out in the light.”
Crazy
This is an absolutely crazy situation at the club right now, but nobody can pretend that they didn’t see it coming at some point.
Gourlay said back in January that he would leave if the owner wasn’t going to follow through on promises to pay the club back or if more money left the club, and it could well be that is the case.

But more than that is the fact the owner won’t talk to the fans, there is no money and now parachute payments have stopped after two years in the Championship.
That will make it even harder to get back into the top flight and with Carlos Corberan wanted by Leeds after their relegation, there now may be no way to stop that happening either.
West Brom is in turmoil and it seems as though the mainstream media has turned a blind eye to it all. Things have to get better soon, because they simply can’t get worse anymore.
In other West Brom news, a £2m release clause has emerged as one club want this Baggies man.
