Carlton Palmer admits West Brom should be ‘concerned’ by Leeds United pursuit of Carlos Corberan
West Brom should be concerned about Leeds United’s pursuit of Carlos Corberan for the vacant managerial position at Elland Road, according to talkSPORT pundit Carlton Palmer.
The Daily Mail reported on 31 May that the Whites had made “early soundings” about bringing the Spaniard back to West Yorkshire this summer after their relegation to the Championship.
Corberan, 40, previously worked under Marcelo Bielsa as an assistant at Leeds United but is currently contracted at West Brom until 2027.

The Whites would have to pay £2million to release the Baggies manager from his current contract at The Hawthorns.
Speaking to Football League World, Palmer said: “West Brom should be concerned.
“However after a promising start amid interest from Leeds, West Brom gave him a new contract and they subsequently fell away, finishing just outside the play-off places.
“However, Carlos boasts a win ratio of over 50 per cent, which is very impressive.”

Nightmare
After missing out on the playoffs on the final day of the season, it could be a long, hard summer for West Brom as they try to resist the urge to sell key players and keep Corberan as manager.
Although Corberan signed a new contract at the club earlier this season, it would come as no surprise if Leeds United were to pay the required £2million, especially if their potential takeover from the 49ers Enterprises is complete.
The Spaniard was considered for the position when Jesse Marsch was sacked earlier this season, and it is only a matter of time before they come knocking again.
For the Baggies to keep hold of Corberan this summer, they must give him the money to build a strong squad in the summer transfer window. If the club don’t show enough ambition, their manager might be tempted to ply his trade elsewhere.
Hopefully, the 40-year-old will rebuff Leeds’ approach for the second time in a year and commit his long-term future to West Brom.
In other West Brom news, yet another key void could be left at The Hawthorns as some new contract news emerges.
