West Brom coach James Morrison jets out to Scotland training camp

West Brom first-team coach James Morrison has been called up to Scotland’s national team training camp in Spain, according to Birmingham Live.

The 37-year-old has been cutting his teeth at The Hawthorns after hanging up his boots in 2019. Morrison previously worked in the academy before being promoted to the first team under Sam Allardyce.

Now, the Baggies’ former midfielder has jetted out to Spain as Scotland prepare for their upcoming European qualifiers against Georgia and Norway.

Great experience

This will be an excellent experience for Morrison. He seems to be tackling his coaching career in the right way, having spent time in the academy before stepping up to the first team. Working with experienced coaches in an international set-up will do him the world of good.

It’s now important for West Brom to hold on to the likes of Morrison moving forward. There have been reports of Stoke City coming in for head of recruitment Ian Pearce. High-profile departures cannot become a regular occurrence for Albion.

West Brom

Carlos Corberan’s future will be the main cause for concern, with Leeds United now on the lookout for a new manager. The Spaniard has undertaken a wonderful job at The Hawthorns and is the main reason why Albion finished within touching distance of the playoffs.

However, considering the issues that have engulfed West Brom in recent weeks, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Corberan exit this summer, who could blame him?

In other West Brom news, fans are fearful over the return of an unpopular figure.
