West Brom striker Reyes Cleary may be on way out this summer – Sky Sports pundit

We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…

Kevin Campbell believes that Reyes Cleary is not ready to break into the West Brom senior side for good despite making his debut this past season.

In August 2022, the 19-year-old was handed his senior debut by then-manager Steve Bruce in the Carabao Cup tie against Sheffield United.

However, his significant contributions came for the under-21s side this past season which helped him get on the radar of Carlos Corberan as well.

The 19-year-old striker bagged 16 goals and three assists for the Albion Under-21s side and was nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Season award.

Discussing Cleary’s future exclusively with West Brom News, Campbell, a Sky Sports pundit, said, “I think it (promotion to first team) might happen at some stage but straight away, no.

“I don’t think he’s going to be a star, not yet. He’s a young man and he’s doing well but you’ve got to prove yourself and a loan deal might be right for him.”

The English forward has been a one-club man throughout his fledgling career and began training with the senior side in 2021.

He is yet to break his goal-scoring duck for the senior side but has only made a handful of appearances for them thus far.

It remains to be seen if Corberan integrates him into the first-team picture next season or fancies loaning him away to get regular game time.

In other West Brom news, Chris Lepkowski left fuming amid stinking Hawthorns development at the boardroom level.
