Ireland media destroy Jayson Molumby as West Brom man poor v Greece
The Irish media destroyed West Brom midfielder Jayson Molumby after his performance for Stephen Kenny’s side in their 2-1 loss against Greece on Friday night.
Molumby was substituted after 81 minutes as he made way for Michael Obafemi, in what was a very ineffective display from the midfielder.
The defeat for Ireland at the Agia Sophia stadium in Athens leaves them with no points after two games played in their quest to qualify for Euro 2024.

Three different outlets were scathing in their assessment of the 23-year-old, who will be seeking to bounce back against Gibraltar in Dublin on Monday.
First of all, it was the Irish Mirror with a four out of 10 for the West Brom man.
“Usually full of energy and industry but had no impact on this game and subbed,” they said.
The same rating was given by the Irish Sun, who did note a couple of positive contributions from Molumby for his team.
“Made an important headed clearance at a time when Ireland were under the cosh and later blocked a shot from Dimitris Koubelis as well but struggled to impose himself,” it said.
An unwanted hat-trick of sorts was confirmed with the same verdict, this time from Extra.
“Never gained a foothold in the game as Greece controlled possession. Gave it away easily as Ireland chased the game in the second half. Poor.”

Much more required
It sounds very much like a Greek tragedy on a personal and collective level, for Molumby and Ireland, after a result which will pile the pressure on the head coach, Kenny.
The Albion man will be very disappointed not to have taken advantage of his opportunity, against a level of opponent, in which he should be making an impact.
The next chance comes on Monday against lowly Gibraltar but can’t be taken lightly as they are growing in stature, relatively, as a small football nation.
Molumby will want to end his overall season on a more positive note, especially after how he contributed to the Baggies’ late push for the playoff spots in the Championship table.
Several of his international teammates will also be striving to make amends in the upcoming game at the Aviva Stadium, in order to keep their Euro 2024 hopes alive.
Nothing other than a win will do.
In other West Brom news, a door has opened for the Albion to potentially re-sign Matheus Pereira.
