West Brom youngsters could leave Hawthorns this summer – Sky Sports pundit

We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…

Kevin Campbell predicts a few West Brom youngsters to leave the club either on loan or on a permanent basis.

The former Baggies player does not see this because of what’s going on behind the scenes at the Hawthorns, but just given how experienced the first-team squad is.

Recently, few youngsters have broken through to the Baggies senior side without getting decent experience on loan so Campbell has urged them to make the move.

Discussing this exclusively with West Brom News, Campbell, a Sky Sports pundit said,

“I wouldn’t quite say there’s discord behind the scenes, I think when you look at West Brom’s first team, they’ve got an experienced first team and when you’re a young player, you want to be able to say, ‘Ok, this is my path to the first team.’

“If there’s no path to the first team, then as a young player, what do you do? Do you just hang around and say, I’ll wait my turn or do you say to yourself?

“As a player, I want to train and I’ll play against these guys all the time. I’m good enough. I’ll go out and prove it.

“And that’s, that’s what tends to happen and will happen again. A lot of the clubs, you know, they’ve got a good youth set up, which probably, and I think he still a sign of things to come.

It remains to be seen if Carlos Corberan is the man in charge next season as he’s already being linked with a move to Leeds United.

The Baggies’ transfer activity will be contingent on the Spaniard’s future as if he is to leave, the new manager would want certain signings.

That said, a number of sensations in the academy could look to leave this summer in order to get regular first-team minutes elsewhere.

In other West Brom news, a Sky Sports pundit has lashed out at a Baggies employee and has mooted serious consequences behind the scenes at Hawthorns.
