Dara O’Shea medical later on Thursday to quit West Brom
Dara O’Shea is set to link up with Irish teammates Josh Cullen and Micheal Obafemi at Turf Moor by making the switch from West Brom to Burnley, as reported by The Irish Post.
The online report (22 June) states that the Dubliner will undergo his medical later this afternoon as he gets set to make a return to the Premier League to play under Vincent Kompany at Burnley.
Following their promotion, the Belgian is looking to bolster his squad and 24-year-old O’Shea has been identified as a defensive reinforcement.

O’Shea is one of the Baggies’ most valuable assets and has featured over 100 times for the club as well as once serving as captain.
Manager Carlos Corberan once described the star as “exceptional” as reported by LancsLive (21 June).
“For me, he has been exceptional, I cannot have more positive words for a player than the words I have for him,” Corberan said earlier this year.
After recovering from a knee injury which kept him out of the final nine matches of West Brom’s Championship campaign, O’Shea featured for the Republic of Ireland in their 3-0 Euro 2024 qualifier victory over Gibraltar on 18 June.
Goodbye
With O’Shea’s move from the Hawthorns all but sealed it is time for West Brom fans to say goodbye.
The central defender joined the club in July 2019 and made 17 appearances in the Championship as the club were promoted to the Premier League in his debut season.

It wasn’t a happy introduction to the league for O’Shea however as he featured 28 times in the competition during the season as the Baggies were relegated straight back to the Championship, with the club yet to return since.
O’Shea however looks like he will be returning to England’s top flight himself and will be hoping to make more of an impression than the last time he was there.
For West Brom, they must now switch their focus and concentrate on the season ahead as they look to build a team that can compete for promotion without their ever-reliable O’Shea present at the back.
