Dara O’Shea completes Burnley medical as Fabrizio Romano shares multi-million West Brom update

Dara O’Shea has completed his Burnley medical as a move away from West Brom edges closer to completion, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist tweeted (23 June) that Burnley are set to complete the signing of Dara O’Shea for £7million.

John Percy of The Telegraph reported on Thursday (22 June) that a fee had been agreed between the two clubs with O’Shea undergoing his medical that afternoon. Romano has now reported this medical has been completed.

“Burnley are set to complete Dara O’Shea deal as he’s joining on £7m deal. Vincent Kompany will have new his defender very soon,” Romano tweeted.

“Medical completed yesterday as called by Telegraph.”

Good business

O’Shea has been a good player for the club however a £7million fee for his too services would have been too good to ignore for West Brom, especially given the situation they find themselves in.

The defender would often find himself out injured and sometimes had a mistake in him and it will be interesting to see how he fares in his return to the Premier League under Vincent Kompany at Turf Moor.

West Brom

There was a reported £8million release clause however as Burnley were the only interested side the Baggies decided to sell. The move is a good one and will help to stabilise some finances however more sales will still need to be made for the club to find themselves in a strong position.

Either way, O’Shea has been with West Brom for four years and was involved in promotion as well as the Baggies’ last Premier League adventure and many fans will wish him well with his deal seemingly complete now.

In other West Brom news, an update has been provided on an investigation at the club.
