Rayhaan Tulloch to return to West Brom after Friday as loan update emerges

Dundalk manager Stephen O’Donnell has revealed in his programme notes ahead of their League of Ireland clash with Shamrock Rovers that West Brom loanee Rayhaan Tulloch will return to the Baggies after Friday.

“Tulloch’s loan deal is up after this evening’s game and he will go back to West Brom” writes O’Donnell, as the winger is suspended for tonight’s game against Shamrock Rovers, and therefore has already played his last game for the Irish club.

Tulloch joined the Lilywhites on loan in February, and has made 19 appearances, scoring five goals and bagging an assist, in what has been a largely success move for the 22-year-old academy product.

This news comes amid speculation that Tulloch could leave the Hawthorns this summer, as fans have called for the club to “ditch” the explosive winger, labelling him a “dud”.

Club should look to sell for profit

Having come through the academy setup at West Brom, Tulloch was initially a highly thought of player at the Hawthorns, with many tipping him for a bright future with the club.

He is now 22 though, and having spend the last half of the season playing in Ireland, it could be time to move him on.

It is likely there will be suitors not just from the League of Ireland but from lower down in the EFL, as Tulloch’s explosive pace and football experience for his age could be viewed as a valuable asset for a lot of clubs, who will also hope to unlock the potential he showed in his early career.

West Brom are in a tricky situation financially, needed to offload players in an attempt to balance the books and meet the EFL’s financial regulations, so any fee for Tulloch would be a welcome benefit to the club, however little that may be. Transfermarkt value the player at £200,000.
