West Brom injury news as Kyle Bartley, Matt Phillips and Adam Reach return to full training

West Brom trio Kyle Bartley, Matt Phillips and Adam Reach have all returned to full training at the club’s Walsall training base, as they return to full fitness after missing the end of last season, according to Birmingham Live.

This news will be a welcome boost to the squad which was blighted by injuries towards the end of last season, with three first-team players back in action and prepared to get a full pre-season under their belts before the Championship season kicks off in August.

The squad is still missing a few players, with Martin Kelly and Daryl Dike both out with long-term injuries, but the bulk of the squad arrived yesterday to begin the first day of pre-season. Other players who missed the end of the season with an injury, Tom Rogic and Kean Bryan, have left the club.

Any positive news will be welcome at the moment

The return of these three will be a boost to West Brom fans, who will be pleased to see some positive news this summer after constant rumours linking their players to moves away from the club. The club’s financial issues mean key players will have to leave.

The Baggies are unlikely to be able to bring in many fresh faces this summer given their financial situation, and therefore players returning from injury will be positive news.

It was, of course, expected that the injured trio would make their returns for pre-season as their injuries were not too serious, but aggravation and recurring issues are always possible, especially without opportunities to ease back into match-fitness, but these are problems they seem to have avoided.

Grady Diangana and Nathaniel Chalobah, meanwhile, have not begun on-pitch training, as the former recovers from a foot injury which required surgery, while the latter suffered an ankle ligament injury.

In other West Brom news, Carlos Corberan could reunite with a former coach who was recently sacked.
