Carlos Corberan looking to create a ‘family’ bond at West Brom
West Brom boss Carlos Corberan has talked up the importance of strong player relationships as he looks to create “new family and new relationships” among players at the club, via the Express and Star.
The West Brom boss shared his perspective on squad building and togetherness at the club, as he looks to focus on the human perspective rather than just playing in pre-season.
Corberan states that he will utilise the “best facilities in the country” to do so, with the squad travelling to England’s St George’s Park training base for their preparations ahead of the new season.

West Brom are still yet to see any new faces come through the door at the Hawthorns this season, as the club have begun their pre-season preparations for the coming Championship campaign.
Speaking about potential new signings this summer, the Baggies boss said: “Some of the players are going to be new and they’ll need to fight together in the competition, so they’ll be creating a new family and new relationships.
“They are going to be together every day, just like they’ll be together every game out on the football pitch. We want to create this togetherness. This mentality of prioritising player relationships and togetherness could be key to the Baggies’ promotion hopes this season.”

Close relationships between players can get teams through tough periods
Speaking about the fight the players will need to show on the pitch, for the club and for each other, is a promising sign as this belief and togetherness is often a difference maker in the season’s difficult stages.
The Championship season is a long and gruelling effort for the players, especially in the winter where teams are playing a minimum of two games per week, and it can be difficult to get through these periods without some sort of issue popping up.
For the players, knowing that if they’re struggling their teammates will be there to keep them going and back them up can be an invaluable part of a successful season.
Trust and belief in teammates, a close bond and understanding, and the knowledge that teammates will back them up when they take a hit can often be more of a boost to a team than just relying on talent when the going gets tough – and in the Championship it certainly does.
Corberan went on to state that there is “no better place to be” for pre-season than England, with the mixture of weather conditions and temperatures replicating what the players will face during the season.
In other West Brom news, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the signing of ‘talented’ Baggies player.
