West Brom updates expected imminently as eight contract offers on table
Updates are expected imminently on a host of West Brom players, with eight contract offers on the table this summer, according to a report by Birmingham Live.
West Brom are expecting to hear updates on eight players’ contract situations imminently, with eight players offered deals at the end of last season who remain in talks with the club.
Jamie Andrews, Mo Faal, Brad Foster, Aaron Harper-Bailey, Fenton Heard, Akeel Higgins, Layton Love and Narel Phillips are the eight players who were offered deals last season, with updates on each of their situations expected in the coming days.

Keeping the best young talents at the club is imperative
With West Brom in a tricky financial position, the club could look to use their academy more, as new signings are not expected to join in any real numbers.
With the club having been granted Category One academy status by the Premier League recently, they will be looking to develop the next generation of West Brom stars to follow in the footsteps of previous academy graduates such as Ashley Williams, Dara O’Shea, Chris Wood and Danny Gabbidon who all went on to achieve international caps.

Key amongst these names is O’Shea who has been crucial to the baggies in more than one way recently. The Irishman made 37 Championship appearances for the club last season and was a key player, and has now been sold to Burnley for £7million in a key sale amidst the financial restraints the club face.
If this generation of academy starts can have the same impact on the club, whether it be an impact on the first team or necessary for the running of the club, then they will have certainly achieved something.
In other West Brom news, Carlos Corberan has sent a transfer message to the board in a recent interview.
