West Brom managing director Mark Miles makes ‘good interest’ claim as Baggies seek investment
West Brom managing director Mark Miles is expecting “good interest” from a number of parties as the club seeks investment.
Miles noted that such interest can be expected given how the Baggies are a “big football club” that has spent many years in the Premier League.
Chairman and controlling shareholder Guochuan Lai is currently looking for either partial investment or a full sale of the Albion.

“Obviously any discussion would happen at Group level and being a director of the club it’s difficult, but we’re a big football club, a club that’s been in the Premier League for a number of years,” said Miles, as quoted by the Express & Star.
“I would be surprised if there wasn’t good interest from a number of parties in the club.”
On a time-frame for any investment, Miles added: “No, we just continue to operate. I work on the basis there is no investment and continue to work on an even keel as we do. There’s no timescales on that side. Lai is open to the idea, that could be next week, next month, three months, I don’t know.”

Big ask
There is no doubting that West Brom were once an important fixture in the Premier League, but their relevance has slowly but surely faded over time.
The club have, however, managed to at least begin bouncing back, with Carlos Corberan helping guide the Baggies to ninth place in the Championship last season.
That seemed impossible not so long ago, with the club finishing just four points outside the playoff places, with injuries unfortunately hampering their chances of promotion to the top flight.
That feat was made even more impressive amid the distractions off the pitch, but those distractions should hopefully be brought to an end very soon if indeed investment does arrive.
A sale of the entire club is definitely the ideal scenario for West Brom fans as they look to end this nightmare with Lai, but partial investment would definitely be welcomed at this moment in time, although both are seemingly big asks this summer.
In other West Brom news, John Swift has been blown away by one Albion teammate in pre-season training.
