Nathaniel Chalobah jets out to complete West Brom exit to Champions League club – John Percy

Nathaniel Chalobah could be set to leave West Brom for a Champions League club, according to John Percy.

The Daily Telegraph journalist provided an update on the future of the 28-year-old midfielder via his personal Twitter account (18 July).

According to Percy, Chalobah has flown to Israel with a possible move to Maccabi Haifa on the cards.

By selling Chalobah it would allow the club to reduce their wage bill which would free up some finances for Carlos Corberan.

Short stay

If the former Chelsea midfielder is to leave The Hawthorns it would bring to an end just six months with his current side.

Chalobah left Fulham for West Brom in January of this year and made 13 appearances in the Championship for the Baggies.

However, the midfielder is not getting any younger and this move could be the perfect opportunity to rebalance Corberan’s squad ahead of a potential promotion push next season.

West Brom

Despite making 13 appearances, only seven of these were starts with his other six appearances coming off the bench. Although Chalobah is clearly a talented and experienced player, the money being spent on his wages could be better used elsewhere.

Whether or not a move does materialise is yet to be seen however if it does go through, it will be a very good move for the Premier League winner who could get the chance to play Champions League football next season.
