Ao Tanaka likely to pass medical if West Brom sign him this summer – Injury Expert
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at West Brom...
West Brom should face no problems with Ao Tanaka’s medical if they end up signing the Fortuna Dusseldorf midfielder, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert reacted as the Japan international, 24, tore his Medial Collateral Ligament and missed over two months of action.
The Telegraph reported in June that the Baggies had a bid rejected for him this year and are now joined by Leicester in the race to secure his services.

Should an agreement be reached, he will have to pass a medical before he can be announced as a new signing.
Speaking exclusively with West Brom News about Tanaka’s injury, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said, “Based on the timeline, this sounds like a grade 3 rupture of the medial collateral ligament (MCL).
“Typically, these are contact related BUT the good news is that the MCL heals quite well due to a robust blood supply with good long-term outcomes for return to play and performance.
“If there’s one major knee ligament you want to injure, it’s the MCL so were he to sign, the medical should go ahead.“
The Baggies have seen Dara O’Shea, Jake Livermore, Tom Rogic and Karlan Grant all leave the club this summer.

When it comes to incomings, Jeremy Sarmiento’s loan signing from Brighton is the only new player that’s arrived.
West Brom undoubtedly need to add to their firepower if they are to strengthen and better last season’s performance.
They narrowly missed a play-off spot and Carlos Corberan will certainly be targeting for the upcoming campaign.
