Sky Sports pundit delivers verdict on West Brom manager Carlos Corberan joining Leeds United in the future

We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…

Kevin Campbell believes that Carlos Corberan’s focus will be on getting West Brom promoted and not on the Leeds United job.

The Spaniard was linked with a return to Elland Road before the hierarchy opted to go for Daniel Farke for the upcoming season.

Corberan, who is a popular figure at Leeds, particularly due to his work with Marcelo Bielsa, was viewed as one of the favourites at one stage, to take the job. [Leeds Live, June 7]

Discussing this exclusively with West Brom News, Campbell, a Sky Sports pundit said, “Well, we’re talking hypotheticals. The fact of the matter is it was there to be had and he hadn’t moved.

So somebody else is in the job now, I don’t know how long he’s gonna be there, but, Corberan’s got a job to do at West Brom and I think West Brom want to be in the Premier League and leave Leeds in the Championship.

That’s what they want.

Corberan was linked with the Whites job back in February as well when they had parted ways with Jesse Marsch.

However, even back then, he resisted the urge to return and did the same thing this summer as well.

Despite the financial struggles at the Hawthorns, the Spaniard appears to have no intentions on abandoning the project.

He came within touching distance of guiding his Baggies team to the play-offs last season.

In other West Brom news, a Sky Sports pundit shares if an ‘Outstanding’ Premier League player who’s got England ambitions is set to seal a move to the Hawthorns this summer.
