West Brom can rest easy on Alex Palmer future after latest transfer news
West Brom are set to benefit as Luton Town have agreed on a fee with Blackburn Rovers to bring goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski to the club this summer, seemingly putting an end to their pursuit of Alex Palmer, according to The Athletic.
The report on 2 August shared that Luton have been on the hunt for a new goalkeeper this summer after they decided not to activate the option to buy in their loan deal for Nottingham Forest’s Ethan Horvath.
Luton had previously been linked with a move for West Brom goalkeeper Alex Palmer, with a £3million bid lodged for his services before a breakdown in talks on personal terms made the deal unlikely [Alan Nixon, 31 July].

It now seems confirmed that Palmer will be a West Brom player when the season kicks off against Blackburn Rovers in less than a week’s time, something which manager Carlos Corberan will be relieved to hear.
The bid from Luton had already caused issues with Corberan’s preparations, as he revealed Palmer was very much a part of his plans for the new season until the bid came in, with the situation up in the air following the breakdown in personal terms – but now that has apparently settled.
As much as West Brom need to sell players this summer in their efforts to balance the books, these plans should not be getting in the way of the manager’s preparations for the new season.

News of Palmer staying will be a great relief to everybody surrounding the club, as he makes the squad stronger and gives them a better chance of a playoff push next season.
The attention will now turn to the future of winger Grady Diangana, who the Express and Star reported on 2 August is now a target for Leeds United and Leicester City among others in a £7million deal.
West Brom can rest easy for now.
In other West Brom news, the club will have to listen to offers for academy star if they arrive.
