Reprieve for Carlos Corberan would be welcome at West Brom as FA news emerges
Carlos Corberan’s season at West Brom did not start in the most positive of fashions.
A couple of first-half defensive lapses proved the Baggies’ undoing as they went down 2-1 to Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Saturday 5 August.
To compound matters, West Brom boss Corberan was sent off for receiving two yellow cards in the 45th and 75th minutes, the first for complaining about what he felt was a penalty for his side and another for leaving the technical area.

The Football Association announced on Wednesday (9 August) that it has hit the Spaniard with an improper conduct charge that he has until Friday to respond to.
However, the Express and Star reported that Corberan is likely to avoid a touchline suspension, with a fine more likely. The newspaper added on its story online that any further cautions could result in a ban.
Instead, it is likely that Corberan will be hit in the pocket with a fine, which might not be ideal for him personally financially but is a reprieve that would be very welcome for West Brom.
With the season still very much in its infancy, it would not have been ideal for Corberan to have been watching from the stands and relaying messages to his players on the pitch via his backroom team.

Instead now, Corberan looks likely to be in the dugout when West Brom, who were knocked out of the EFL Cup by Stoke City on Tuesday (8 August), entertain Swansea City at The Hawthorns on Saturday (12 August).
It is a boost for him personally and means he will be able to get across his points from the best vantage point in the stadium, something he will be especially keen to do as his side look to hit their stride early in the campaign.
There is, of course, still the possibility he challenges the charge but either way the outcome will be a relatively positive one it appears.
In other West Brom news, Nathaniel Chalobah was spotted in an exchange with West Brom fans during Stoke City defeat.
