David Prutton predicts result of West Brom showdown v Swansea for Sky Sports

David Prutton has predicted that West Brom will be made to wait for their first win of the season against Swansea in the Championship on Saturday 12 August.

The Sky Sports pundit does believe that the Baggies will get their first point of the new campaign however, suggesting West Brom will draw 1-1.

Carlos Corberan’s side have been unable to register a win in their first two matches in all competitions, losing to Blackburn Rovers in the Championship and Stoke City in the EFL Cup.

With the Baggies playing at home for the first time this season, a large proportion of the fanbase is likely to get their first look at summer signing Jeremy Sarmiento, while Josh Maja may make his first matchday squad since arriving from Bordeaux.

But even with the added quality, Prutton suggested in his Sky Sports predictions that Michael Duff’s side will restrict them to only a point.

In need of something

Duff’s side comes into this one having got their season up and running with a convincing 3-0 win over Northampton Town in the Carabao Cup and both Joel Piroe and Jerry Yates have found the net so far this season, giving the Swans a genuine goal threat.

Corberan needs to get something on the board to stop things from turning ugly at the Hawthorns early this season, especially when there is frustration amongst some fans with the ownership as well as some players, with frustrations between Nathaniel Chalobah and a portion of fans bubbling over at Stoke.

A draw against a Swansea side who have started the season well would by no means be a terrible result, especially as it would see the Baggies get their first point on the board for the season and allow them to feel as though some progress is being made.

Hopefully, the new signings at the Hawthorns will be that little bit fitter once again and can inspire West Brom into doing one better than Prutton has predicted and instead go on and beat the Swans and kickstart their campaign.

In other West Brom news, Corberan believes his new strikers can allow the Baggies to adapt their system
