Journalist surprised by West Brom decision over exit-linked Grady Diangana
Ryan Taylor has been surprised at the news West Brom are seemingly willing to let Grady Diangana leave the club this summer.
Speaking to GiveMeSport on 13 August, the Express journalist said he believes the winger would be a “good signing” for other sides, with Burnley, Leicester City and Leeds United all interested [Express and Star].
The Baggies are believed to be looking for a fee in the region of £7million to allow the 25-year-old to leave the Hawthorns, with Taylor finding the decision “hard to understand”.

“I see that as being a good signing,” said Taylor. “I’ve seen suggestions he’s not wanted at West Brom, which I find hard to understand, but obviously, I’m not at the club, so I’m guessing there’s more to it than that.
“But a couple of years ago, he was deemed a top talent at West Ham, and they were disappointed to see him sold.”
Funds needed
This is a difficult one because Diangana has proven during his time at West Brom that he is a quality operator on his day at Championship level.
Since signing for the Baggies initially on loan in 2019 before making the move from West Ham permanent in 2020, he’s scored 15 goals and laid on 11 assists in 129 appearances.
He joined the club for £12million, so they would be making a significant loss if they do decide to move him on this summer, with other Championship sides interested.

But despite being out since February through injury, which he is set to return to full training after recovering from this week, he had fallen out of favour under Carlos Coberan.
If the winger isn’t in the Albion manager’s plans, then it may be best to try and move him on for a decent fee as the funds are needed to improve other areas of the squad this summer.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies could sign a Danish midfielder following a transfer update at his club.
