New stat shows Carlos Corberan impact at West Brom as The Hawthorns becomes a fortress
A new stat has displayed Carlos Corberan’s impact since taking over at West Brom, as since his arrival last October no team has won more points at home than his Baggies side.
The stat was shared by The Second Tier on Twitter and illustrates just how well the Spaniard has done with his side, turning the Hawthorns into a fortress, and teams will not relish a trip to the Black Country this season.
As the old saying goes, if you can win your home games and not lose your away games, you’ll have a pretty good chance of doing well. West Brom are proof of that under Corberan.
The Baggies have earned 39 points from a possible 51 at the Hawthorns since the boss took over, losing just two home games since last October [Transfermarkt] in an incredibly impressive run of form, including wins in both of their home games so far this season.
This gives the Baggies a fantastic platform to build from as they look to push for promotion once again this season, having narrowly missed out last time out.
Just think, if the club wasn’t involved in the financial issues they currently face due to the owner Guochuan Lai, they would be able to build a strong squad behind their gaffer, giving themselves a strong chance of promotion. Currently, he will have to work with what he’s got, and he is doing very well in that case.
The Spaniard has been vocal about wanting to be backed in the transfer market but does accept the conditions the club are currently under. The win against Middlesbrough was another statement of what he can do even with limited resources.
