Guillem Balague shares Carlos Corberan view on Twitter as West Brom stat emerges

Guillem Balague has praised Carlos Corberan for his work at West Brom since taking charge last October.

The Spanish football expert took to Twitter on Monday [28 August] to hail his compatriot.

Balague was responding to a post from The Second Tier that revealed no team has won more Championship points at home than West Brom since Corberan was appointed at The Hawthorns.

“Another Spanish manager doing well,” Balague posted.

Fortress

Corberan has quickly made Steve Bruce’s West Brom tenure a thing of the past with his impressive work since coming in.

The Baggies were near the bottom of the division when the Spaniard was appointed, yet they finished the 2022-23 season in ninth, three points off the play-offs.

Corberan led Huddersfield Town to the play-off final the year before, where they were beaten by Nottingham Forest, and his aim will be to challenge for a top-six spot this time around.

West Brom

Albion are currently seventh after four rounds of fixtures, as they followed up defeat to Blackburn Rovers with seven points from games against Swansea City, Leeds United and Middlesbrough.

They have won three in a row at The Hawthorns stretching back into last season, while it is just one defeat in 16 there in the league since 1 November – 12 of those ending in victory.

Continue that form and there is no reason why Corberan cannot guide West Brom back into the big time.

In other West Brom news, Albion have confirmed the departure of a midfielder.
