Premier League clubs now want to sign West Brom star Brandon Thomas-Asante – BBC Sport journalist
A couple of Premier League clubs want to sign West Brom star Brandon Thomas-Asante, according to BBC Sport journalist Alex Howell.
The journalist reported on BBC Sport’s live transfer blog on Friday (1 September) that the attacker is “one to watch” on Deadline Day.
Howell added that Championship clubs are also interested in the 24-year-old, with Stoke City having had a bid rejected for him this summer.

“West Bromwich Albion striker Brandon Thomas-Asante has been the subject of interest this window,” Howell wrote for BBC Sport.
“It’s understood that Stoke City have had a bid rejected for the forward. More clubs from the Championship and also a couple from the Premier League are believed to be interested in Thomas-Asante so he could be one to watch.”

Huge loss
Losing Thomas-Asante would be a massive loss for West Brom, particularly given how it is so late in the transfer window. The 24-year-old has been in superb form this season, scoring three goals from his four matches in all competitions.
He has done a superb job in filling in up top for the injured Daryl Dike, so Baggies boss Carlos Corberan will be absolutely desperate to keep hold of the attacker amid the interest.
However, as has been the case already this summer, the Albion may have to give in if a Premier League club swoops in for Thomas-Asante.
That was the case for former centre-back Dara O’Shea, who was a key player at The Hawthorns before his switch to newly-promoted Burnley.
While it would be a significant loss on the pitch, the sale of Thomas-Asante would undoubtedly be very good off it, bringing in much-needed funds to the club.
In other West Brom news, Corberan has set a new challenge for one Albion player in the early stages of the new season.
