Carlos Corberan sends West Brom message on Twitter after Huddersfield loss
West Brom boss Carlos Corberan has called for his side to continue improving as they look to become the team they want to be, despite suffering a late defeat against Huddersfield.
The Baggies manager took to his personal Twitter account to reassure fans that the squad will now face two weeks of work during the international break, with improvement targeted despite the disappointment of defeat.
Corberan has always been fair and open with his comments towards the fans, with this the latest example. His reassuring words are sure to be warmly received by the Baggies faithful.
Following the 2-1 loss to Huddersfield at The Hawthorns, Corberan issued a statement on Twitter, writing: “Unfortunately, we didn’t get the result we wanted, but we keep going. Two weeks to work and continue improving to become the team we want to be.”
The statement was a short but sweet address to the fans, whose concerns were growing after a defeat in a game they were expected to gain all three points from.
Tempering expectations once more
Corberan’s latest move to reassure fans is another of several he has issued throughout the summer, as he attempts to temper the fans’ expectations around the club. At the beginning of the transfer window, he called for patience with the club, and this will be needed once again now.

The defeat to Huddersfield was certainly a shocking one, but shouldn’t be anything to worry about for fans of the Black Country side. These games happen over the course of a season. They were caught out on a late counter-attack but who can simply be described as a typical Neil Warnock side.
These things tend to balance themselves out. West Brom will win a game at some point later in the season that they were not expected to. It’s the way football works, particularly in the Championship, and should not be cause for overreaction.
Corberan’s statement is a positive one. They will put in two weeks of hard work on the training ground and return stronger after the international break as they attempt to push for the playoffs once more.
In other West Brom news, the absence of two key players from the game has been explained.
