Jeremey Sarmiento must start next West Brom match, ace tops Premier League and English Football League statistic

West Brom have endured a tricky start to the new Championship season, with the Baggies winning just two of their five matches.

They have also lost twice, as well as drawing once, leaving the club in 11th place in the table going into the international break.

Carlos Corberan suffered a major blow right before the season with the loss of star defender Dara O’Shea, who made the switch to newly-promoted Burnley.

The Baggies did, however, manage to land a gem of their own, with Jeremy Sarmiento arriving on a season-long loan from Brighton.

The 21-year-old is clearly viewed as one for the future by the Seagulls, who certainly know how to identify young stars.

The attacker now has a chance to gain plenty of playing time at The Hawthorns before his return to the south coast next summer.

And he has certainly impressed in the early stages of his West Brom career, with no player across the top four English divisions completing more dribbles per 90 than Sarmiento (5.6), as per NT Stats, 4 September.

Making the statistic hugely impressive is the fact that Sarmiento is yet to start for his new club, having made all six of his appearances so far as a substitute.

But his displays from the bench really should now warrant a starting place under Corberan, with the Baggies back in action on Saturday 16 September with a trip to Bristol City.

The Albion also take on Watford, Millwall and Preston before the end of September as the fixtures come thick and fast.

In other West Brom news, Corberan was left baffled by what the Baggies did in their 2-1 loss against Huddersfield Town on Saturday (2 September).
