West Brom midfielder John Swift outlines ‘worst thing’ about losing to Huddersfield Town
John Swift admits the “worst thing” about losing to Huddersfield Town is the two-week break until West Brom return to Championship action.
The Baggies were stunned 2-1 by Huddersfield at The Hawthorns last Saturday [2 September], with Jack Rudoni striking a 96th-minute winner for the visitors.
West Brom do not return to action until 16 September with a trip to Bristol City, much to the chagrin of midfielder Swift.

“It is the worst thing. You’d rather have a game as soon as possible to put it right,” he is quoted as saying by the Express & Star [8 September].
“But we can’t look too much into it. We have had a lot of possession and chances.
“We’ve just got to work on the training pitch over the break and put it right at Bristol.”
Busy period
Even accounting for the cruel loss at home to Huddersfield prior to the international break, it has been a positive enough start to the season for West Brom.
The Baggies followed up defeat to Blackburn Rovers on the opening day with home victories against Swansea City and Middlesbrough, either side of a – some would say fortunate – draw at Leeds United.

Losing late on to lowly Huddersfield was a blow, but Albion are still only three points off the play-off places ahead of their trip to Ashton Gate in a little over a week’s time.
This hiatus may have come at a bad time in the view of Swift, but he should make the most of the respite as West Brom have six games in a three-week period coming up.
Another international break follows, at which point the Baggies will hopefully be well positioned high up the table ready for another busy period through until the new year.
In other West Brom news, Jason Molumby had a tough time of things on international duty with the Republic of Ireland.
