West Brom winger hopeful he can still make ‘Jamie Vardy-like’ impact at The Hawthorns

Rayhaan Tulloch is taking inspiration from Jamie Vardy as he looks to belatedly make his mark at West Brom.

The 22-year-old has been on Albion’s books since the age of nine and made his senior debut in January 2019.

However, he has made just six further appearances for the Baggies in all competitions and is now out on loan with Bradford City in League Two.

Tulloch remains hopeful of playing a part at The Hawthorns, though, telling the Telegraph & Argus [12 September]: “There’s always time, isn’t there?

“Just look at Jamie Vardy and what he’s done. Anything can change in football.

“You can have one good season and end up in the Championship, so who knows?”

Make an impression

Tulloch will be 23 by the time he arrives back at West Brom, so he is hardly a youngster anymore – but nor was Vardy when making a name for himself.

Now out on his fourth loan spell away from the West Midlands, it is looking likely that his permanent future lies elsewhere.

Indeed, given his contract is due to expire at the end of the season, he may well have already played his last game for West Brom.

As Tulloch rightly points out, though, a good season on loan with Bradford and his career could take a different path.

Two sub appearances in the fourth tier this term is a far cry from his days representing England U18s alongside Jacob Ramsey and Tommy Doyle.

Hopefully for Tulloch, he can stay injury free and make an impression with Bradford this campaign.

Even if his future lies away from West Brom, it would be nice to see one of the club’s own make a name for himself somewhere or other.
