Carlos Corberan details ‘opportunity’ international break has provided West Brom
Carlos Corberan has revealed he is happy with a “very positive” two-week break during the international fixtures, which has allowed his West Brom side an “opportunity” to develop ahead of their clash with Bristol City.
The boss expressed his feelings that having the extended period of rest following the defeat to Huddersfield has been beneficial to his squad, as they have been able to properly analyse where they went wrong in the 2-1 loss.
He also praised the attitude and fitness of his squad, with the break allowing them to further their tactical understanding and readiness for the visit to Bristol City on Saturday 16 September.

Speaking to the club’s official website on 14 September, the boss revealed: “The last two weeks have been very positive in terms of the work we have been able to develop.
“The fact we didn’t play a game last weekend allowed us to properly analyse the match against Huddersfield and to learn.
“When you don’t compete at the level that you want to, it’s always so important to learn. These two weeks have given us an opportunity to do that.
“The two weeks have been excellent in terms of the tactical, technical and physical development of the team. Every player is fit and ready.”

Time to bounce back from disappointment
Many managers in the past have lamented the international break as it disrupts the flow of the domestic season, but at West Brom, the case is the opposite. Having two weeks to work on the errors they’ve made this season will only have been beneficial, and Corberan’s comments prove it.
Ironing out tactical and individual errors will be key for the Baggies who are yet to keep a clean sheet so far this season, as they recognise they can always work on themselves to better their performances.
The added time working on fitness at the training ground will also be a benefit to the squad, with a relatively small group of players being allowed time to recover in what can be a difficult league in terms of rotation and time between games.
Corberan’s positive attitude should rub off on the rest of the squad, with hopes high for the return to Championship action, and Bristol City are the target as the Baggies look to get back to winning ways.
