West Brom attacker Josh Maja to be out until last week of November – Injury Expert
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at West Brom...
West Brom attacker Josh Maja is unlikely to return before the last week of November due to an ankle injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The 24-year-old needed help to get off the pitch in a 0-0 draw against Bristol City City and was then spotted in a protective boot as well.
The injury expert believes that the precaution could be taken for multiple reasons but that he’s not likely to be back for two months.

Speaking exclusively with West Brom News about Maja’s injury, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said: “A protective boot with a foot injury can range from the physio staff being cautious to it indicating a more serious setback.
“Foot injuries can evolve quickly and be difficult to diagnose early on so a boot is oftentimes used just as a precautionary measure.
“In terms of best and worst case scenarios, there’s just too many to give without knowing more about the injury and how it happened.
“However, it does not look likely he’ll be back until the end of November.“

Maja has played five games this season, but is yet to start a league game for Carlos Corberan’s side.
The Nigerian has featured in just 91 minutes and all his appearances for the first team have been off the bench.
Maja moved to the Hawthorns on a free transfer this summer after his contract at French side Bordeaux expired in June.
