Five changes as Jeremy Sarmiento starts – West Brom starting XI v Millwall

Carlos Corberan has made five changes to the West Brom starting lineup for the game against Millwall on Saturday (23 September).

Ahead of kick-off, the Baggies confirmed via their official Twitter account that Alex Palmer will start in goal, with Erik Pieters, Kyle Bartley and Semi Ajayi playing in central defence, as Conor Townsend and Matt Phillips get the nod in the wing-back positions.

Elsewhere, Alex Mowatt comes into the midfield to join Jayson Molumby, while Jeremy Sarmiento will make his full debut alongside Grady Diangana and Brandon Thomas-Asante in the attacking positions.

Tricky

This will no doubt be a tricky game because Millwall have proven themselves to be a strong side in the Championship over the past few seasons.

They are strong and physical, so the West Brom players will be tested in that aspect and will have to stand up and make themselves accounted for.

After picking up two draws away from home over the past week against Bristol City and Watford, Albion will be keen to back that up with a victory at the Hawthorns.

The Baggies will have to tighten things up at the back, though, after they have conceded six goals in their first three home games of the season.

This is an opportunity to show that they should be looking up towards the sides in and around the playoff picture rather than looking over their shoulders at the sides below them in the table.
