Alex Palmer hopes to make West Brom history with Carlos Corberan after penalty save v Millwall
Alex Palmer has said that both he and his West Brom teammates are looking to be a part of the Albion’s history, following his penalty save against Millwall.
The Baggies stopper denied Zian Flemming from twelve yards in Carlos Corberan’s 0-0 draw at The Hawthorns on Saturday (23 September), with Brandon Thomas-Asante missing a great chance late in the game to ensure all three points would remain in the Midlands.
But Palmer revealed that before the game, Corberan showed the side a short video surrounding the history of West Brom to motivate his side to perform and reach the standards they’re capable of and what it means to play for the Albion.

Speaking following the game, as quoted by the Express and Star (25 September) he said: “The gaffer mentioned it on Saturday, he showed us a short video about what it means to play for West Brom and I’m immensely proud to be able to do that.
“The video was a bit of everything, highlights of the past. You watch it and you realise the history of this club and how big it is and it makes you immensely proud to want to play here. We’ve got to take our chance this season and keep pushing and write history ourselves.
“We are part of West Brom now and we are trying to make our names and in the future be part of the history and in future videos.”
History
It’s been such a difficult period off of the field for the Baggies in recent seasons, with so much uncertainty off the pitch that has occasionally spilt onto it, but it is clear that West Brom have a very good number one and possibly an even better manager.
Palmer could have left The Hawthorns this summer, yet it is obvious he has a genuine ambition to be a success for the Albion and for supporters there are few things better to hear from players than such a vocal love for the team they are a part of.

In terms of Corberan, his ability to get a team up and ready for a match could well be second to none in the Championship. The Spanish manager has a knack for getting teams ready to fight for him and the football club that cannot be undervalued.
Many coaches would have walked away from the challenges he has faced in his first year at The Hawthorns, but he seems to be relishing the opportunity and enjoying the battle. West Brom cannot afford to lose him over the coming years as he the piece of hope in an otherwise dreary period.
In other West Brom news, Corberan was quick to defend Thomas-Asante following his costly miss against Millwall
