West Brom outcasts Pipa and Nathaniel Chalobah given valuable minutes for Premier League 2 side
Pipa and Nathaniel Chalobah both started for West Brom in their Premier League 2 game against Fulham on Monday [25 September].
The pair have struggled for minutes at senior level this term, particularly in the case of Pipa since his deadline-day arrival at The Hawthorns.
In fact, the right-back has been an unused substitute in all three games since reuniting with his former Huddersfield Town manager Carlos Corberan.
Chalobah has been used in six of Albion’s eight Championship games this season, meanwhile, but five of those appearances have come as a substitute.
Indeed, the Chelsea academy product has totalled just 133 minutes on the field for the first team in the league this campaign.
However, both men had a chance to win over Corberan when featuring against Fulham at Hednesford Town’s Keys Park, as confirmed by West Brom’s official Twitter page.
Many feel Pipa is ready for a place in the starting line-up, although Corberan clearly does not agree.
And after keeping two clean sheets in their past three matches, the Baggies’ defence is hardly in need of changes.

Chalobah has failed to truly impress when given minutes, but Albion have three more games in a week coming up and rotation will be needed.
The fact both men started against Fulham for the U21s shows Corberan is eager for the pair to get some playing time under their belts.
Whether that in turn equates to minutes against Preston North End when the senior side return to action next weekend remains to be seen.
In other West Brom news, an injury update has been provided on Erik Pieters ahead of the match with Preston.
