West Brom ace Conor Townsend sends heartfelt message to Tom Rogic after retirement news
West Brom ace Conor Townsend has sent a heartfelt message to Tom Rogic after the latter announced his retirement from football.
The 30-year-old has officially retired from the game in order to spend more time with his family in his home nation of Australia.
Rogic joined West Brom from Celtic in the summer of 2022, making a total of 23 appearances before moving on this summer.

In a heartfelt message on Instagram, Rogic noted: “After careful consideration I have made the decision to retire from professional football.”
He added: “I have loved every minute of being a dad and consider it my greatest achievement in life. After experiencing some more struggles and heartache with fertility treatment, we have recently received the amazing news that our family is growing and we will be expecting twins in 2024.”
Commenting on the post, Townsend wrote: “Amazing news roggy, delighted for you and the family! And congratulations on a fantastic career.”

Superb career
Rogic is clearly well-loved in the game, with countless messages of support and congratulations rolling in for the former midfielder.
He will undoubtedly be remembered most for his time at Scottish giants Celtic, where he made almost 300 appearances and won a long list of honours. Such honours include several Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup trophies, as well as many individual awards.
Baggies fans may not have seen the best of the Australian international at The Hawthorns, but he still impressed at times on the pitch, with Rogic scoring twice and registering three assists for the Championship club.
The ex-Celtic man can now relax away from the pitch with his head held high, having given so much for club and country over the years.
He will no doubt be checking in on his former clubs from time to time, with that list including Celtic, West Brom, Central Coast Mariners and Melbourne Victory.
In other West Brom news, one player blew Preston North End away with an 88% all-round masterclass in the club’s 4-0 win.
