West Brom injury news as Jeremy Sarmiento could return for Coventry City clash
On-loan West Brom forward Jeremy Sarmiento could return from injury to face Coventry City on 30 October, according to Birmingham Live.
According to the Midlands news outlet (4 October), the Brighton loanee “could, at a push, be in the squad” for the trip to the Sky Blues on Monday 30 October, otherwise, he may be out until after the November internationals.
The on-loan Ecuador winger came off the bench as the Baggies hammered Preston 4-0 at Deepdale on Saturday (30 September) but was a notable absentee for Tuesday’s (3rd October) 1-0 victory over rock-bottom Sheffield Wednesday.

Providing an update on the 21-year-old, in quotes reported by the Express & Star (4 October), Corberan confirmed that the Seagulls wonderkid will be out of action for four weeks but it’s now emerged in Birmingham Live that he may be in line for a return a little sooner.
Yet another blow
This update is yet another unfortunate injury blow amid a backdrop of an upturn in positivity at The Hawthorns, with the 1-0 win over Wednesday now leaving the Baggies in fifth place after a stop-start campaign so far.
However, it seems as if Corberan is suffering from having such a depleted squad at his disposal that there is always the risk of a crucial player picking up an untimely injury, the same thing happened to Josh Maja recently.

Sarmiento’s start to life at The Hawthorns has been a little stop-start, with Corberan managing his minutes after a spell on the sidelines towards the end of last season, and now we have already seen why he has been so cautious with his minutes on the pitch.
It is yet another disappointing news for the Baggies, who are already working with a small squad and are already devoid of Maja’s services, meaning there is a lot of onus on the likes of Brandon Thomas-Asante, Jed Wallace, John Swift and Grady Diangana to provide the attacking impetus over the next few weeks.
The Baggies are unbeaten in their last five matches and have enjoyed an upturn in results and Corberan will be hoping that run is still going strong when he welcomes back both Sarmiento and Maja towards the end of the month.
In other West Brom news, a finance expert listed the Baggies among clubs in “trouble”.
