Carlos Corberan bags another impressive stat as West Brom record emerges
Since Carlos Corberan took charge of his first game at The Hawthorns on 29 October 2022, his West Brom side have kept more home clean sheets than any other club in the Football League.
The 1-0 victory against Sheffield Wednesday on 3 October moved the Baggies to an impressive record of twelve clean sheets since the boss arrived, with only Leyton Orient and Stockport able to match that number.
Those 12 clean sheets have come across 25 home Championship fixtures, keeping on average a clean sheet every 2.08 games, including impressive shut-outs against Millwall, Middlesbrough and Coventry last season as all three sides pushed for the playoffs.
The stat was shared by Playmaker on Twitter on 4 October, with a nod to Corberan’s successful spell at the Hawthorns. To be top of this particular pile will be looked at as a huge success for the boss’ spell, and there will be hopes of pushing on from here.
The Baggies’ defensive record so far this season, and particularly in recent games, has been especially impressive. Four clean sheets in their last five games has helped them avoid defeat in any of those fixtures, as West Brom behind their ascent up the league.
Hopes will be starting to emerge at The Hawthorns that this side is capable of mounting a serious push for the playoffs in the most unlikely of circumstances, after a turbulent summer clouded by the lack of investment and rumoured need to balance the books.

There is no doubt that Carlos Corberan is continuing to carry out an expertly crafted job at The Hawthorns, and the recent run of form is turning the poor start into a distant memory.
If the Baggies can keep up their impressive clean sheet record across their next 25 games and beyond, there is a serious opportunity to mount a push for Premier League promotion.
In other West Brom news, the club have voiced concerns about ticket prices for the trip to Coventry.
