West Brom midfielder John Swift injury update emerges
West Brom midfielder John Swift is set to be ruled out for multiple weeks with a calf injury, according to journalist Lewis Cox.
The Express and Star journalist has relayed the club’s update and it seems like the 28-year-old will be out for six weeks.
He has been a regular this season for the Baggies are they’re eyeing a top-six finish in order to return to the Premier League.
Cox wrote on Twitter, “John Swift out for six weeks with calf injury, WBA confirm.”
Big miss
Swift’s creativity, vision, and passing ability have crucial in orchestrating West Brom’s attacks and he’s certainly going to be a big miss.
His ability to unlock defences with precise through balls and set pieces made him a valuable asset in the midfield and even the final third.
Off the ball too, he’s tracked back, intercepted passes, and helped regain possession for the Baggies while his versatility has seen him become an important player for Carlos Corberan

He’s also been an influential figure inside the dressing room and it remains to be seen how the club copes with his absence.
Jeremy Sarmiento, Daryl Dike and Adam Reach are also injured and these absentees are set to derail the club’s play-off push.
Corberan needs to ensure that some of the fringe players step up as it’s a tough road ahead for the Baggies.
