Jeremy Sarmiento shares new injury return timeline at West Brom
Jeremy Sarmiento has laid out a new timeline for his return from injury, claiming there is not long before he can feature for West Brom again.
The Colombian forward shared his anticipation at playing for the Baggies again as he continues his recovery from the quadriceps injury he picked up ahead of the 1-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday on 3 October.
At the time, Carlos Corberan admitted his surprise that the forward was ruled out for a number of weeks after multiple scans and checks by the physios after he felt pain in his muscle [West Brom official website].

Speaking to Colombian news outlet El Universo on 16 October, the winger revealed: “I’m really looking forward to being on the team again. There is not much time left to return to the field.
“As you know, with Brighton the plan was to have that habit of playing again, adding minutes, which is what is going to be most useful for me with these injuries.
“That’s what we’re doing now. When I am well, I imagine that I will be playing many more minutes.”
He went on to speak about how Corberan has a plan for his time at West Brom: “He has a good plan with me, with my injuries, and he also wants me to improve as a player. I still have that patience, that the best of me is yet to come.”

Hoping for consistent minutes
The winger will be hoping for more consistent minutes upon his return from injury, having not yet made his first start in the Championship, although he was pushing for that first call before his injury issues set him back again.
Corberan’s experiments with the front line in this side would likely have given Sarmiento the opportunity to start one of the games in the creative wide position often occupied by either Jed Wallace or Grady Diangana, with the former starting games up front at times.
The good news for West Brom fans, though, is that he is approaching the end of his spell on the sidelines and should soon be available for selection, and the hope will be that he can maintain a longer period of fitness.
An ongoing injury crisis at the club is slowly starting to ease as players make their way back to full strength, something everybody around The Hawthorns will be strongly anticipating.
In other West Brom news, Carlos Corberan has been vocal in his praise for one key player.
