Lee Hendrie blasts West Brom in ‘outrageous’ on-air Sky Sports rant v QPR
Lee Hendrie couldn’t believe how much possession West Brom had in the first half of their Championship clash against QPR in the Black Country on Tuesday night.
Gareth Ainsworth’s side was accused of parking the bus against Albion after a delayed kick-off at The Hawthorns was caused by the away side’s coach being late to arrive at Halfords Lane.
Carlos Corberan’s men didn’t create much despite having so much of the ball in the first half, causing Hendrie to criticise the lack of creativity and patience by West Brom.

Speaking on Sky Sports News on Tuesday night (24 October, 08:32pm), ex-Aston Villa player Hendrie said: “You talk about parking the bus – this is blatant. The possession stats must be outrageous for West Bromwich Albion, who haven’t really carved out or created anything.
“They had a chance on the left-hand side that was whipped in and Darnell Furlong came in but it’s always going to be a difficult one for him.
“The fact West Brom are having so much possession… it’s one of them where they’re trying to prod but then they’re trying to force through really tight gaps where the passes are clearly not there.
“They’ve got to have more patience in possession of the ball.
“It’s 0-0 and I think it will remain that for quite some time this evening.”

Missing John Swift
West Brom’s form has really dropped off a cliff in recent weeks.
We only just beat struggling Sheffield Wednesday – on another day that could have been a draw – and came undone against Birmingham after a shocking refereeing decision.
Since then, we’ve lost John Swift to injury and failed to score or produce anything of note in a 0-0 with Plymouth and are now finding it tough to break down a QPR side who are among the worst in the Championship.
It’s clear that we’re missing Swift.
Corberan’s team selection raised some eyebrows ahead of kick-off against Ainsworth’s side because Alex Mowatt and Jayson Molumby were left on the bench and both of them can arguably create more going forward than the starting midfield duo of Okay Yokuslu and Nathaniel Chalobah.
Out wide, Grady Diangana seemed to show some spark but there wasn’t anyone picking up the winger’s darting runs to try and break the QPR’s line.
It’s disappointing that this is the hand Corberan has been dealt with but he hasn’t helped himself that much with that team selection.
Changes need to happen during the break.
In other West Brom news, here’s why Conor Townsend and Semi Ajayi weren’t in the squad versus QPR.
