Tory MP Nicola Richards reacts to West Brom win v QPR, shares stance on change of ownership
Nicola Richards has provided her reaction to the West Brom victory against QPR on Tuesday (24 October).
The Conservative MP for West Bromwich East tweeted on Wednesday (25 October) that it was a “great result” for the Baggies as they extended their “promising start” to the season with a 2-0 win at the Hawthorns.
She added that with “hope on the pitch to push for promotion”, it’s important that the work with Albion’s supporters’ groups continues to “secure the club’s future off the pitch”.
“Great result for WBA last night to extend a promising start to the season,” said Richards. “With hope on the pitch to push for promotion this year, it’s all the more important we continue our work with supporters’ groups to secure the club’s future off the pitch too. Glad to have Andy’s (Street) support.”
Keep building
It has been a solid start to the season for West Brom and there are probably very few people that would’ve thought the club would be fighting near the top of the Championship table.
The victory over QPR took the Baggies up to fifth place, with another clean sheet making it six for the season for keeper Alex Palmer.
Carlos Corberan deserves great credit for the job he is doing under extremely difficult circumstances after he was forced to move on a number of senior players over the summer.

As Richards pointed out, the work now needs to continue to try and facilitate a deal to sell the club, with Albion’s troubling financial situation off the field less than ideal.
But at least the majority of the results on the pitch will have improved the positivity around the Hawthorns to encourage potential investors to pump their money into the club.
In other West Brom news, one player stood out from the rest in the victory over QPR.
