Carlos Corberan pays tribute to backroom staff with classy message after one year at West Brom

Carlos Corberan celebrated the one-year anniversary of joining West Brom earlier this week, and Joe Chapman has shared that the boss treated staff to a beer and a card to mark the occasion.

The journalist shared images of bottles of Estrella – a fitting touch originating from the song Baggies fans sing about their boss – as well as letters given to each member of staff at The Hawthorns.

Corberan thanked staff for their hard work over the past year and toasted to a successful season and a successful future at the club as they begin their second year together.

As shared by Chapman on Twitter [27 October], Corberan’s letter to the backroom staff read: “October 25th 2022. The day I had the privilege of becoming West Bromwich Albion Head Coach.

“For the last 12 months, it has been a great honour to lead this football club our players and you – our hard-working, fantastic staff.

“As we now begin our second year together, I wanted to say how much I appreciate all of the effort you have put in. We are a team and together, we can achieve anything.

“Thank you for everything so far. Here is to a successful season, and a successful future.”

A classy touch from a fantastic manager

The respect Corberan has earned from everybody associated with West Brom goes far beyond his achievements on the pitch. The bond he has built with the staff behind the scenes has been a big feature of his first year with Albion.

Classy touches like this one are such a key factor in keeping the morale positive around the club, despite all of the questions and frustrations behind the scenes, there is a clear comradery amongst the staff which goes from the head coach and throughout the backroom staff.

West Brom

Fans have rallied behind the boss who has shown a fantastic commitment to the club, even during the summer when he was linked to a move to join his former club Leeds United at Elland Road, but was never tempted to leave the project he has built at The Hawthorns.

Even despite the difficult financial situation at the club, with the ownership debate raging on, Corberan has provided a strong and stable base for fans to focus their attention, and hopefully, that will last for some time yet.

In other West Brom news, the boss has mooted a new role for one key player.
