Chris Lepkowski reacts to nuisance he spotted in West Brom win v Coventry City

Chris Lepkowski believes Coventry City midfielder Tatsuhiro Sakamoto was pulling the strings against West Brom on 30 October.

The Baggies ended up winning the game 2-0 but the hosts had plenty of chances to score and get something from the game.

With the win, Carlos Corberan’s side found themselves in fifth place and thus in the play-off spots.

Via Twitter, former Birmingham Live journalist Lepkowski wrote, “Sakamoto an absolute nuisance from #wba point of view. Dictating everything in front of our box.”

Great result

The Baggies did not go into this game as overwhelming favourites and Corberan perhaps would’ve taken a point if he was handed it at kick-off.

The game also started with the hosts dominating possession and they had a few clear-cut chances which if they had taken, could have seen things pan out differently.

There were also offside claims for both West Brom goals, but that’s the game and they’ve also been let down by poor officiating in the past.

West Brom

Corberan got his substitutions spot on, especially when he brought on Brandon Thomas-Asante.

The striker scored the second goal and made a lovely solo run to almost make it three as well.

Had he not been selfish, things may have panned out slightly differently, but the three points were secured by then so one can understand why he wanted individual glory.
