Tony Brown rages at ‘criminal’ West Brom incident in win v Coventry, wants Carlos Corberan to have words

Tony Brown has raged at an incident in the first half of the West Brom game against Coventry City on Monday (30 October).

Speaking on BBC Radio West Midlands on Monday (via BBC Sport, 08:46pm), the pundit said it was “criminal” from the Albion players to leave Light Blues midfielder Jamie Allen free on the edge of the box.

He added that it was something that Carlos Corberan would have wanted to have “spoken about in the dressing room” before the Baggies went on to secure a 2-0 victory.

“Jamie Allen is on the edge of the box and nobody is with him,” said Brown. “It’s criminal. Nobody is taking responsibility.

“That’s something that will have to be spoken about in the dressing room. Carlos Corberan will want the half-time whistle so he can sort some things out.”

Ironed things out

It wasn’t a great moment from the West Brom side as they handed Allen an opportunity to be free on the edge of the area without a man in sight.

But they got away with it on the stroke of half-time and it appears as though they ironed things out during the break after settling down in the second half.

Corberan certainly isn’t someone to hold back if he isn’t happy with something the team is doing wrong and he will probably have picked up on that incident.

The Baggies came out after half-time and put in a resolute performance, though, to claim another important three points that take them back up to fifth in the Championship table.

Alex Palmer also added another clean sheet to his collection – his seventh of the campaign – after their defensive work has been an important part of their early success this season.

In other West Brom news, a Tory MP has shared her stance on a potential change of ownership at the Hawthorns.
