Alan Pardew details board meeting about West Brom players before he left The Hawthorns
Alan Pardew has revealed he held a meeting with the West Brom board about his struggles getting the players to perform before he left.
While speaking live on talkSPORT (2 November, 9:42am) the former Baggies boss was discussing the issues at Manchester United right now with Erik Ten Hag under pressure.
And he admitted that during his time at West Brom he felt he wasn’t getting enough from individuals and after a meeting with the board he decided to leave.

“Are they really putting it in for me? You know is there something underlying here that they’ve lost faith in me or something like that,” he said.
“I actually went to the board and said, ‘look I don’t think I’m getting enough out of these individual players and in the end we made a decision to leave.
“I think he’s borderline crossing where it looks like he’s not getting the commitment and effort so desired from players. Having said that, in these League Cup games you’re making seven or eight changes and I always think you’re asking for trouble.”
Movement
Behind the scenes the club have got worse and worse in recent years, but on the pitch we’re definitely heading in the right direction now.
Previous managers Steve Bruce and Valerien Ismael all really struggled to get the best out of the team and individual players, and it contributed to us not only falling out of the Premier League but also failing to get back there.

But since Carlos Corberan came into the club we have seen performances on the pitch going on an upwards trajectory, with only one club picking up more points in the Championship.
That’s because this manager has not only brought his own style of play but also found a way to maximise the players he has at his disposal, and it’s so important in this division to be adaptable.
We’re on the way up and so long as we keep hold of Corberan for the long term then we’re confident that we will keep improving as a club.
