Hull City injury news as Jaden Philogene to miss West Brom showdown

Hull City star Jaden Philogene is set to miss the Championship clash against West Brom in a huge boost to the Baggies’ chances, according to Mike White.

The Humberside Sport journalist reported via his personal Twitter account that the forward, who has scored three goals and picked up four assists in just nine games so far this season, will be absent from the game.

Hull are flying high so far this season as they currently sit seventh in the Championship, with wins in each of their last two games, but the loss of Philogene will prove a huge boost to West Brom.

The Baggies will be aided by the absence of one of Hull’s most dangerous players, and his unavailability will only increase their chances of picking up another three points at The Hawthorns on 4 November.

On top of his three goals and four assists, Philogene averages 3.4 shots per game and 1.4 key passes per game, as well as 3.2 successful dribbles, with his flair and confidence going forward typifying the attacking nature of Liam Rosenior’s side. [Sofascore]

On top of his impressive attacking stats so far this season, he has also recorded an average of 3.2 tackles, 8.8 duels won and 2.4 fouls drawn, as his hard work out of possession is also made clear.

His displays across nine starts so far this season show what a threat he can cause to opposition defences, and therefore what a boost it will be for the Baggies as their opponents are without him for Saturday’s game.

Carlos Corberan’s side will have been prepared with a plan to deal with Philogene, but his absence will no doubt improve their chances of getting a result, and they will be relieved to see their opponents missing such a key part of their style of play.
