Alex Mowatt axed as Brandon Thomas-Asante recalled – West Brom predicted XI v Hull

Alex Mowatt could be set to be axed from the West Brom starting lineup for the game against Hull City on Saturday (4 November).

The 28-year-old has emerged as a surprisingly important player under Carlos Corberan this season, but the midfielder could be the victim of a slight tweak in formation from the Baggies side that beat Coventry City 2-0 on Monday (30 October).

The Albion boss may decide to play another attacker and recall Brandon Thomas-Asante after the forward came off the bench to score against the Light Blues, knowing that this is a must-win game to remain in the promotion hunt ahead of a difficult run of fixtures over the course of the next few weeks.

West Brom

That is the only change the Spaniard is predicted to make, with Alex Palmer continuing in goal on the back of his impressive form this season, having conceded just 14 goals in 14 games and registering seven clean sheets along the way.

After the injury he picked up against QPR proved to be nowhere near as serious as originally feared, Cedric Kipre will once again start on the right-hand side of the back three and will be joined by Kyle Bartley and Erik Pieters, who have proven impossible to shift after their solid displays in recent weeks.

Corberan has made some slight alterations to his backline during this campaign and one of those came against Coventry when Pipa was handed his Baggies debut. He is likely to get the nod again after putting a decent shift in at right wing-back in place of Darnell Furlong.

Matt Phillips has nailed down the place at left wing-back this season and he looks a certainty to keep his spot for the visit of Hull to the Hawthorns.

West Brom

After surprisingly regaining his place in midfield and putting in a couple of excellent performances, Nathaniel Chalobah will play in a midfield two alongside Okay Yokuslu.

Jed Wallace will start on the right-hand side of the attack, while Grady Diangana will be looking to pick up where he left off against the Sky Blues on the other flank after scoring the opening goal on Monday.

Thomas-Asante will come into the side to add more energy and a focal point up front as he looks to help his side make it three wins on the bounce.

In other West Brom news, Tony Brown has raged at an incident in the game against Coventry.
