West Brom injury news: Carlos Corberan shares if Jeremy Sarmiento and Semi Ajayi will return to matchday squad v Hull City
Carlos Corberan has confirmed that both Jeremy Sarmiento and Semi Ajayi have returned to West Brom training ahead of Saturday’s clash with Hull City, and could make the matchday squad.
Ecuador international Sarmiento hasn’t featured for the Baggies since the end of September, with Nigeria international Ajayi’s last action coming in the 0-0 draw against Plymouth Argyle on 21 October.
The Spaniard, speaking in his press conference (via West Brom’s official website, 3 November) ahead of the game at The Hawthorns on Saturday (4 November) shared that if both players complete the training session on Friday, they will feature in the squad for the game.

He said: “Jeremy Sarmiento and Semi Ajayi are two players who, if they complete the training session on Friday, can be part of the matchday squad on Saturday.
“They both trained on Thursday with the group and they came through that fine.
“It’s always really positive to add players back to your squad when you have been missing plenty of them in recent weeks.
“With Semi, we have one more option at centre-back and he was playing in the first XI at the start of the season.
“Jeremy is a player who can give us plenty of possibilities in attack, so both players being back is positive news.
Crucial boost
The Baggies are in fine fettle right now, despite their increased injury list, sitting pretty in the Championship table in fifth place and tasting only one defeat in their last nine games.
Ahead of a crucial run of fixtures in the coming weeks, Corberan will certainly need some of his injury-stricken players back ready and available and the news regarding Sarmiento and Ajayi are the boost they need at such a pivotal period.

The Baggies need some consistent wins on the board to stake their claim for an early promotion battle and to do that, they will need key players in tip-top shape, but also those players certainly good enough to start regularly.
Sarmiento and Ajayi have proven fringe players since the start of the season but they are two players who Corberan will be confident that they can fill in for the team when needed and their return to fitness is tremendous news for the club.
Sarmiento, especially is a fantastic boost given Corberan’s limited options in attack. The Ecuadorian international can provide a unique spark in the Baggies attack but also provide competition for Grady Diangana, and Jed Wallace who will now be wanting to keep their places in the first eleven.
Superb news at such a significant time.
In other West Brom news, this senior player may never start for Corberan again after what he did against Coventry, he was woeful.
