Journalist stunned by Grady Diangana ‘sorcery’ in West Brom clash with Hull City
Lewis Cox has been left stunned by a moment of “sorcery” from West Brom winger Grady Diangana during the Baggies’ win over Hull City.
Albion continued their excellent run of form in the Championship with a 3-1 win over the Tigers on Saturday (4 November) thanks to goals from Jed Wallace, Matt Phillips and Semi Ajayi.
But it was Diangana who earned the plaudits from many supporters for his role in Ajayi’s goal, with the 25-year-old producing an exceptional moment of magic to create the opportunity for the Baggies’ defender.
Describing the goal via his Twitter account (4 November) the Express & Star journalist wrote: “Diangana made it. Wonderful sorcery on the right byline.
“Tied his defender inside out to cross for Ajayi to convert via a deflection.”
Wonderful sorcery
It feels as though it has been a long time coming but Diangana looks to have finally rediscovered the level of form that made him such a force for West Brom during their time in the Championship under the management of Slaven Bilic.
The 25-year-old has been an absolute revelation at The Hawthorns this season since he returned from his injury and could well be the player to fire the Baggies into the play-off race if he is able to maintain this exceptional recent run of form.
Few players in the Championship can carry the ball like Diangana who has a knack for dribbling past the opposition’s full-back as if they’re not even there and what makes him an even better player is the fact that more often than not, he has the final ball to match.

In his last two matches before Saturday’s clash he had picked up two goals and he has then followed that up with an excellent assist against Hull. Before he was substituted at The Hawthorns he created three chances in the game and completed the most dribbles in the game.
Keeping him fit for the remainder of the campaign could be crucial to where West Brom finishes this season, as it is safe to say, Corberan’s side are much stronger with him in it.
