Liam Rosenior frustrated by ‘horrible’ West Brom win v Hull City
Liam Rosenior was left frustrated after his side lost 3-1 to West Brom on 4 November, claiming Hull were the better team for 90% of the game.
The Hull boss claimed his side gifted the game to the Baggies with individual errors and a lack of professionalism in their play which ultimately cost them the three points.
Jean Michael Seri gave the ball straight to Jed Wallace after 14 minutes which put the Tigers behind, but other than that moment it seems harsh of the manager to lay the blame solely on his players.

Rosenior spoke to the official Hull City website following the game, where he claimed: “It’s always horrible when you lose a game, especially in the manner that we did.
“We gift-wrapped the game to them. I thought for 90% of the game, we were the better team. In the 10% where we switch off and make errors and don’t do professional things, that’s what won them the game.
“For me, that’s really frustrating. We’ve come here and gone toe-to-toe with a very good team, dominated certain areas but gifted goals at crucial times.
“We play out from the back – that’s what we do and that’s what’s given us the control that we’ve had this season. Mika’s (Jean Michaël Seri) made a mistake – he’ll hold his hands up and I’ll hold my hands up because I’m asking the players to play that way.
“Those moments are what’s costing us at the moment – not the quality of our players or the quality of our play. We have to improve our concentration at vital moments.”

Possession does not mean dominance
As many teams that visit The Hawthorns will discover this season, just because they may dominate the flow of the play and the possession stats, it doesn’t mean they were the better team. Carlos Corberan’s side looked in control throughout, even without the ball.
To suggest that Hull were on top for 90% of the game is a bizarre take given they lost 3-1 in the end. You don’t concede three goals to somebody you clearly regard as an inferior team just by switching off for 10% of the game.
The Baggies specialise in frustrating their opponents, particularly when playing at The Hawthorns, and that was the case yet again here. Even statistically, it was an evenly-matched game, and West Brom edged it with their quality and ability.
With this victory, they have extended their strong run this season to just one defeat in their last ten games, and sit fifth in the table as things stand, moving three points ahead of their opponents. These comments will just be water off a duck’s back.
